OK, Having just become a huge fan of both Asher and Jason Brant, I had just bought Madness when this morning, I received an email about this being book 1.5 of the series. I immediately purchased this without reading any reviews. (No spoilers here)I read this straight thru this morning and will begin reading Madness next. The humor that Jason uses is some of the funniest sarcasm I have ever read. My wife now thinks I'm demented since I laugh out loud in the bathroom. I try to convince her I'm just reading a book.
Mr. Brant's YouTube channel is hilarious and will give you some insight as to how his twisted, douche of a mind works.
Kudos to Jason Brant and let's all have a microbrew. Who cares if you wake up in your dorm room in your underwear covered in puke. Just don't run out into the hall like some people do.
Read all of the Asher Benson books that are available now and you will definitely be drooling for more. While waiting, pick up another of Mr. Brant's books and have a great time. Well..., what are you waiting for Short Round? GO!

The Perfect Crime An Asher Benson Short Story edition by Jason Brant Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I am not a fan of short story's. You start and you end and miss out on so much. I even debated buying a short of 32 pages. The story really has no back story but is very complete. It is also soul complete in justice. You also learn a bit more about Ash and how he has a moral code. Now I would like to know how he escaped being followed by his suits?
This is a short story that takes place between the 1st and 2nd Asher Benson novels, I believe. Regardless of its place in the timeline, it can be read by itself or in conjunction with the novels. Basically, if you like this story, you'll love the novels. Very well written, great dialogue and pacing; I can't wait for the next Asher Benson book!
Jason, your writing is getting better. Ideas, scenes, thoughts all seem to flow better and follow in a much more readable form. I little worried what more you can make poor Asher do other than find and punish bad dudes. Anyway, I enjoy the series.

Best short story I've read in a good while, didn't want it to end. Gripping from the very first sentence. Even the pervert in this story was interesting from the start. I was left wondering who the heck was Ash and where did he come from, was he really able to read minds. I really enjoyed this book, absolutely a must read.
I love the Ash character! A bit ago I was looking for a new read and I ran across the 1st Ash book. I really enjoyed it, great character, a man's man, and all together real. I since read the 2nd book, Madness, and it too was good (albeit a bit predictable). You read it for the characters, the witty banter, and the entertainment. I found this one next... I loved it. It was short, to the point, and to quote another reviewers words, it really showed off Ash's "badassedness". Great development of the antagonist, and like the other novels, pure entertainment. This fit right in the middle of the 2 main novels and it really was a nice bridge. If you are a fan of the series or the characters, you'll love this.
It was perfect. If you did not know who Ash was then it's still a great read. But, if you do know him then the ending was just awesome. The story was so well written that you really hated this sick predator. The author picked subject matter that every parent is going to lose sleep over. Then the ending was so great and then when Ash's name is mentioned you just smack your forehead and go, how did I miss that? Love it. I've read all the Ash books and I really want another, please.
I gave this short story a five-star rating because it is well written by an author that's articulate, witty, perceptive and down right hilarious. Jason Brant is an incredibly talented author that writes with rhythm, style and a funky grace. The story is a bit unsettling when you first start reading it because you realize Brant has captured the insane thoughts of a murdering, psychopathic pedophile. However, the poetic justice that occurs afterwards is worth every bit of the discomfort. The loveable mind-reading protagonist Ash Benson flushes out every single thought of the deranged perv's thought life, forcing him to confess through a horrific beating. You absolutely MUST read this book to appreciate the rating because the book is indescribably sublime...beyond words.
